How does the RUT deduction work for cleaning and other services?

When you hire a company for services in your home, such as cleaning, you have the opportunity to utilize the RUT deduction. This means that you only pay 50% of the labor costs for certain household services—provided that you meet the conditions for the RUT deduction.

As our customer, you can leave this in our hands; we handle everything with the Swedish Tax Agency (Skatteverket). You will receive your invoice with the RUT deduction included, so you always see what you are actually paying for our services.

New rules for RUT and ROT deductions in 2024

Starting from July 1, 2024, the Swedish Parliament has decided to increase the cap on the RUT and ROT deductions. You can now receive up to 75,000 SEK in ROT deductions and 75,000 SEK in RUT deductions per person per year, resulting in a total tax reduction of up to 150,000 SEK. Please note that your ability to utilize these deductions depends on how much tax you have paid during the year, as well as any other tax reductions, such as those for green technology.
